Frank Seravalli: The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for another top-10 pick in tonight’s draft.
Sources have said that the Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars had talked about the idea of flipping the No. 7 if the Stars had made the trade with the Seattle for Jason Robertson. The Leafs would have sent Matthew Knies to the Stars to help replace the loss of Robertson. Obviously, the Kraken trade didn’t go through as Roberston didn’t want to sign an extension with Seattle.
The Maple Leafs want to get another top 10 pick
Frank Seravalli: Sources say that the Maple Leafs ask for Knies needs to include a top 10 pick and roster player(s). If the Leafs are going to trade Knies, it is going to have to be for a big package.
Luke Fox: Maple Leafs GM John Chayka is intrigued by adding two prospects at the same age from the top 10. He’s talked about trading every pick in the top 10 aside from the No. 1 pick. He did talk to the Blackhawks about the No. 4 pick.
