Bill and Giuliana Rancic Are Weighing a Move to Tennessee or Florida as They Consider What’s ‘Best’ for Their Son

The married couple of 19 years share 14-year-old son Duke together

Giuliana and Bill Rancic are considering a move down south. 

During an Oct. 27 episode of Bill and Giuliana: The Podcast, co-host Giuliana discussed her family’s possible relocation to Tennessee or Florida with guest Jana Kramer, who permanently moved to Nashville with her family back in 2019. 

“Bill and I, we’ve moved a lot through the years. We have looked at all different cities and Nashville has always been on our list of cities that we’ve always been really interested in possibly moving to,” the former E! News correspondent said during the episode, later adding, “We visited Nashville and we’re considering moving there.” 

Giuliana added that the decision to move is currently being weighed by the couple, who currently live in Chicago, because of some comments that their 14-year-old son Duke recently made. 

“There will be a point where your kids really have a big personality, [a] mind of their own. And they will tell you what they like, they will tell you what they don’t like,” she said. “Our son is 14, and we’re starting to hear him communicate in ways that we had never seen before. He’s more mature, the way he talks to us and communicates with us.”

Giuliana continued of her son: “One of the things we’re hearing is, he’ll say things like, ‘the city’s chaotic.’ And there’s a lot of underlying messaging there. Like, ‘it’s stressful, it’s chaotic.’ And I’m going, ‘You know, his personality… living somewhere calmer might be better for him.’”

She added that she and her husband have been discussing how city life has been impacting their son, and whether it might be best to move in the end. 

“That’s kind of what Bill and I are talking about now and why we’re looking at different options, because we obviously want to do whatever is best for our son,” she continued. “At the end of the day, he’s 14. He’ll start his life, regardless if he goes to college or not at 18, 19. It’s going to be here before we know it.”

She noted that while Nashville does “check a lot of boxes” for her family, she and Bill have “talked about Florida as well.” 

“Bill’s a boater and we love the water and we love the weather,” she continued. “Although it’s very hot in the summer, but so is Nashville. And so is Austin, where we once lived.”

In September, Giuliana and Bill celebrated 19 years of marriage. Giuliana marked the milestone with a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a series of photos of her hugging and kissing her husband. 

“19 years…and we still can’t keep our hands to ourselves 😉🎉❤️ #09/01/07,” she wrote in the caption. 

The couple first met in 2004 when Giuliana interviewed Bill for E! News after he was declared the winner of the inaugural season of The Apprentice.

After getting engaged two years later, they tied the knot on the Italian island of Capri in 2007. They later welcomed their son Duke on Aug. 29, 2012, three days before their fifth wedding anniversary.
