CBSE explained that though the board tries to allot centres in one of the cities chosen by candidates during the time of registration, the final decision rests with the board.Once a centre is allotted, it will not be changed under any circumstances, either due to personal or logistical reasons.CBSE has also stated that if the number of candidates in a particular city is too low, the examination may not be conducted there. In such cases, candidates may be assigned a centre in their second, third, or fourth preference city, or even in a completely different city.
CTET February 2026 exam date and shift timings
The CTET February 2026 examination will be held on February 8, 2026, in two shifts.
- Paper II: 9:30 am to 12 noon
- Paper I: 2:30 pm to 5 pm
Paper II is conducted for candidates intending to teach classes VI to VIII, while Paper I is meant for those aiming to teach classes I to V.Candidates must report to their examination centres well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card, which will be released separately.
