CISCE fake DigiLocker website alert: MeitY warns students against sharing personal details online
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), along with DigiLocker, has flagged a fake website posing as an official CISCE-linked DigiLocker portal. The fraudulent site is misleading users into entering sensitive personal details. Authorities have issued a strict warning urging students and parents to avoid such links and use only verified government platforms.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), along with DigiLocker, has issued a public alert after a fake website was found using the names of DigiLocker and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to mislead users. The fake website, http://digilocker.cisceboard.org, is not official. Authorities have clearly said that it is not linked to DigiLocker or CISCE in any way.

Fake website trying to trick students

Officials said the website is trying to look like an official portal for marksheets and certificates. It is designed to confuse students and parents by using trusted names. Such fake websites can trick users into sharing their personal details.

    Do not share personal information

Users have been strictly warned not to enter any personal or sensitive information on such websites. This includes Aadhaar number, OTP, password, bank details, or payment information. Officials have warned that this information can be misused for fraud if entered on fake sites.

    Always check the website link

Authorities have asked students and parents to carefully check the website address before using any online service. They have also said that official DigiLocker and CISCE services should only be accessed through trusted and verified links. Users should avoid clicking on unknown links sent through messages or social media.

    Cyber fraud risk increasing

Officials said that fake websites like this are becoming more common. Fraudsters are targeting students by copying the names of schools, boards, and government services. Since many education services are now online, students need to be more careful.

    Simple safety rules issued

MeitY and DigiLocker have shared basic safety advice:

    • Do not share OTP or passwords
    • Do not enter bank or Aadhaar details on unknown sites
    • Always check the correct website link
    • Do not trust random links shared online

    Stay alert and safe online

Authorities have urged everyone to stay careful while using online services. They said even one mistake can lead to loss of personal data. Users are advised to always verify before sharing any information online.
