BENGALURU: Dr S Kumar, executive secretary, Comed-K (Consortium of Medical, dental and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka)Contrary to what the state government had announced, Comed-K said that it will go ahead with the counseling for the UG Entrance Test and will not wait for the Common Entrance Test counseling to kick off.Announcing that Comed-K released the results of the UG Entrance Test 2025 one day in advance to the earlier announced date, Dr S Kumar said at Times of India’s mission admission education expo that it will go ahead with counseling.“CET has its own problems. KEA cannot start counseling for engineering without doing first round medical. To do first round medical, they have to wait for All India counseling. Additionally, they have to follow reservations. To provide all this is a mammoth task. We have it simple: you have your scores, here is your rank, make your choice,” he said.“What happens if a student of Karnataka takes a seat through Comed-K, and then lands up with a seat in KEA? For the last five years, any student producing the allotment letter of KEA has got a hundred percent fee refund. No injustice is done to any students if the state. There is no logic in waiting for CET,” he said. “Karnataka colleges lose precious seats waiting for their irregular timelines. So please don’t fall their sloganeering,” he added. He also added that there will be four rounds of counseling this time.
