Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried, former CEO of the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, is shifting his political stance while serving a 25-year sentence in a Brooklyn prison for defrauding FTX customers.

Once a major donor to Democratic campaigns, he now voices support for US President Donald Trump and praises Elon Musk’s approach to government reform, according to a February 20 interview with The New York Sun.

In the interview, Bankman-Fried criticized President Biden’s administration and the legal system that convicted him. He said during the 45-minute conversation, “I became really frustrated and disappointed with what I saw of Biden’s administration”.

Meanwhile, SBF’s parents are reportedly looking for ways to secure a presidential pardon for their son. According to reports from Bloomberg, they have been in contact with people close to President Trump’s circle to explore the possibility.

SBF suggested that he has been building connections with conservatives. He said, “I’ve been working with Republicans a lot more than had been previously thought”.

Recently, Ross Ulbricht, the pardoned former CEO of Silk Road, spoke out in support of Roger Ver, also known as “Bitcoin
