Glenn Phillips enjoyed a remarkable run with the bat during New Zealand’s recently completed five-match T20I series against India. Although the Black Caps ended up losing the contest 3-2, the explosive batter emerged as one of the biggest highlights of the series, earning the Player of the Series honour for his outstanding contributions.
Phillips finished with an incredible 341 runs at an average of 113.66 and a strike rate of 185.33. In the process, he established a new world record for the most runs scored by an individual batter in a bilateral T20I series, surpassing England’s Phil Salt, who previously held the record with 331 runs.
While his performances on the cricket field have attracted plenty of attention, fans have also become increasingly interested in his personal life. Away from the demands of international cricket, Phillips shares his life with his wife, Kate Victoria. From their romantic beginnings to their picturesque wedding, the couple’s journey has several interesting moments worth exploring.
Who Is Kate Victoria?
Kate has established herself in the creative and professional space, with interests spanning event management and social media marketing. She also has a keen interest in fitness, fashion and travelling, regularly offering followers glimpses into her everyday activities through Instagram.
Originally from Warkworth, New Zealand, Kate is currently based in Dunedin. Her social media presence reflects her enthusiasm for exploring new destinations, maintaining an active lifestyle and keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
Despite being married to an international cricket star, Kate has maintained her own identity and professional interests while occasionally sharing special moments from their life together.
Glenn Phillips and Kate’s romantic proposal
The couple reportedly began dating in 2021. Although they initially preferred to keep their relationship away from the public eye, they gradually started sharing glimpses of their romance through social media.
One of the most memorable moments in their relationship came in August 2022, when Phillips planned a special proposal for Kate. Understanding her love for travelling and the outdoors, he chose the spectacular surroundings of New Zealand’s Mount Cook National Park for the occasion.
During a hike along the famous Hooker Valley Track, Phillips got down on one knee against a breathtaking mountainous backdrop and asked Kate to marry him. The picturesque setting made the proposal even more special, turning the occasion into a memorable chapter of their relationship.

Inside their dream wedding and life together
After getting engaged, Glenn and Kate took their relationship to the next level by exchanging wedding vows on February 10, 2023. Their wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Stoneridge Estate in Queenstown, New Zealand.
The celebrations were attended by their close friends and family members, along with a few of Phillips’ teammates from the New Zealand cricket team. Surrounded by the scenic beauty of Queenstown, the couple celebrated the beginning of their married life.
Kate’s unwavering support during Glenn’s cricket journey
Behind Phillips’ success on the cricket field, Kate has remained an important source of encouragement and support. She has frequently accompanied him on international cricket tours, sharing in the highs and lows that come with a professional cricket career.
Her support has also been particularly valuable during difficult periods. Phillips faced a challenging spell while recovering from a serious groin injury sustained during the 2025 Major League Cricket final. Having a supportive partner during his rehabilitation and return to competitive cricket was an important part of that journey.
Kate was also among those who stood by him during the emotional aftermath of New Zealand’s defeat to India in the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad. While Phillips continues to make headlines with his performances for the Black Caps, Kate remains a constant presence in his personal journey, celebrating his achievements and supporting him through the challenges of professional cricket.
