Kathy Hilton has opened up about the terrifying moment her home was broken into by burglars, prompting her husband Rick Hilton to fire his shotgun.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, and mother to Paris and Nicky Hilton, opened up about the ordeal in an interview with ExtraTV at The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women In Entertainment Gala.
“They came in, broke the glass and it was raining and our security guy was down at the guest house,” Kathy, who wasn’t home at the time of the incident, explained.
The break in occured on November 15 while Kathy was away in Las Vegasfor BravoCon – a convention of reality TV stars from the Bravo Network, per NBC News.
According to Kathy, once Rick heard the commotion, he “got his shotgun out”.
Kathy explained three burglars broke down the front door of the master bedroom before Rick confronted them, telling them, “Get the f–k out of here. The police are on their way”.
“Then our [security] guy came up, they met, they ran out and then [Rick] started shooting the gun out of his office in the air,” Kathy continued.

The home of Kathy’s fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke was also broken into, she explained in a statement to US outlets.
“The individuals involved entered through a kitchen window and stole all of my luxury handbags, including pieces from Hermes, Chanel and other designers. They also took my fine jewelry,” Stracke, who was also at BravoCon, said in a statement.
Since the incident, Kathy explained she and Rick have increased security in their house.
“If you touch anything … Carol came in today, and the whole house went off,” Kathy explained of the upgraded alarm system.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, all seems to be fine for the celebrity couple now.
Kathy continued her chat with ExtraTV to reveal her “plans for the holidays”.
“The whole family will be together and we’ll go back and forth [between] Paris’ and our house,” she explained.
“I’m going to try to get back to New York, too, so we can see the Rockettes.”
Paris lives in Los Angeles, while her other daughter Nicky lives in New York.
“I cannot wait,” Kathy added.
