The latest updated ICC rankings for the ODI format have seen the spinner rise two places to the No. 1 spot. This is the second time since 2023 that he has claimed the top spot.
The South Africans are after a humiliating loss in the T20I series, where they lost 2-1 despite their great attempts with both bat and ball. Dewald Brevis has come forward as a new player on the side who has raised the standards.

The South African spinner was recently seen playing the first ODI against Australia, where he tore apart the opposition batting order with a maiden ODI 5-wicket haul. The left-arm spinner climbed two places ahead of Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana and Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav on the updated ranking.
