    NEED TO KNOW

    • Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she has a photographic memory
    • It’s a skill that runs in her family, with the Stranger Things star saying her younger sister has the same gift
    • She recalled learning things “very, very quickly” when she was young

Like the Stranger Things character that made her a star, Millie Bobby Brown has a superpower of her own.

Learning lines for not only the hit Netflix series, but the dozens of other roles she’s scored since the show’s 2016 premiere, has been an easier task for Brown, 21, compared to others, she revealed in a new British Vogue profile.

“I actually have a photographic memory,” the actress said, recalling “learning things very, very quickly” when she was younger and exploring a wide variety of interests as a result. She realized, though, that she “loved” acting “the most” of all the activities she was trying, so it became “top priority.”

Brown’s impressive memory runs in her family. “My little sister’s the same way,” she told the outlet, referring to Ava.

But she didn’t realize it wasn’t something everyone experienced. “I didn’t know I had it until somebody said, ‘How do you learn your lines?’” she recalled. “And I said, ‘Well, I just see it.’ ”

Photographic memory aside, Brown emphasized how supportive her family was of her dreams to be an actress from a young age. She was only 10 when she auditioned to play Eleven on Stranger Things, and now, at 21, she’s approaching the final stretch of the life-changing series.

“I was 10 when I started, so this is like a family to me,” Brown said. “Not just the cast, not just the crew, but the entity of Stranger Things.” The ending feels “like a death of someone you love,” she told the outlet.

Brown recently made headlines as The Daily Mail reported that she filed a bullying and harassment complaint against her Stranger Things costar, David Harbour, who plays her adoptive father in the series.

The filing was allegedly made before filming began on season 5 in January 2024, and included “pages and pages of accusations” against Harbour, which led to an investigation that “went on for months,” a source told the outlet.

Neither Brown nor Harbour, 50, have commented on the complaint.
