A Wisconsin man has been charged after he allegedly stole an ambulance in the nude with a person still in the vehicle.
The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Wood County, according to local news outlets WISN 12 and Fox 6 Now.
Wisconsin Rapids paramedics were loading a patient into the ambulance when a man, who was later identified as Benjamin Feltz, 37, allegedly jumped into the driver’s seat. The paramedics attempted to stop Feltz, but he sped away with the patient still inside the ambulance, per the outlets.
A high-speed police chase ensued, and authorities ultimately caught up to the vehicle about 20 minutes later after a tire on the ambulance deflated.
The patient in the ambulance later told authorities that she screamed, “I'm dying from kidney disease!” at Feltz during the car chase in an attempt to get him to stop, according to a legal complaint obtained by WISN.
The patient did not suffer any physical injury from the theft or pursuit itself.
