    NEET UG 2026 in 2 Days: Things to carry, dress code — last minute tips for exam day

    With the NEET UG 2026 just two days away, most students have completed their preparation. At this stage, the focus need to be on being ready for the exam day. Planning the day in advance can help avoid confusion and ensure that candidates remain calm and focused on D- day.The National Testing Agency has issued an advisory for candidates. The guidelines cover dress code, reporting time, and items allowed inside the examination centre. Students have been asked to follow these instructions strictly.

    NEET UG 2026: Dress code

    As per the official guidelines by the National Testing Agency for NEET UG, the dress code is kept simple to ensure smooth frisking and avoid delays at exam centres. According to the guidelines:

    • Candidates should wear light clothes
    • If wearing heavy, woolen clothes, or long sleeves, candidates must report early for checking
    • Slippers and low-heeled sandals are preferred

    NEET UG 2026: Barred items

    • Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers
    • Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc.
    • Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc.
    • Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc.
    • Any Watch/Wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, etc.
    • Any ornaments/metallic items
    • Any food items opened or packed, water bottle, etc.
    • Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc

    NEET UG 2026: Allowed items

    • Admit card (mandatory)
    • Valid ID proof (as used during registration)
    • Passport-size photograph (as per admit card instructions)
    • Transparent water bottle (only if permitted at the centre)
    • Items of faith (with prior reporting and checking)

    Apart from the NTA guideline, there are other basic things too students should take care of. Students should avoid wearing jewellery such as rings, chains, earrings, or bracelets. Even if some general items seem allowed, different centres may have stricter checks. It is best to carry only what is essential and avoid arguments at the centre to stay calm and focused on the exam.It is better to use the washroom before the exam begins, as movement during the paper may not be allowed. Since many centres may not have proper cooling, carrying a handkerchief can also help.It is also good to be accompanied by a parent or friend who can keeps personal belongings like mobile phones outside. Finally, candidates should sleep well before the exam day and reach the centre on time. The reporting time is between 11 am and 1.30 pm, and no entry will be allowed after that. Students should keep extra time for traffic or weather-related delays and reach the centre early.The NTA has also warned that some exam centres may be incorrectly mapped on online platforms. Students should rely only on the address mentioned on the admit card and visit the location in advance if possible.For any queries, candidates can contact the NTA through its helpline numbers or official websites
