The Canadiens and Mammoth have interest in Kirill Marchenko
Marco D’Amico: Columbus Blue Jackets GM Don Wadell on 97.1 Radio on Friday:
“I’ve gotten calls; I’ve not made any calls on Marchy. I’ve gotten calls, and my job as a GM is to listen to offers, and we’ve had a few that are not even close to what he means to our hockey club. He’s an important player to us also, our leading goal scorer the last few years.
If we have a chance to make our team better, we have to look at it. But, in his case, I think it’s going to be fine. It would be hard for somebody to come up with something better than what he is.”
Kevin Weeks: On Friday, the agents for Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko, said that as of now, it would be unlikely that he would re-sign with the team when his contract is up. (He has one year left at $3.85 million)
NHL Rumors: Capitals, Flyers, and the Top NHL Trade Targets
David Pagnotta: The Montreal Canadiens have serious interest in Marchenko, and have heard that the Utah Mammoth have some interest.
Dallas Stars, from improving to an RFA to UFA to injury notes
Robert Tiffin: Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said that they’ll continue to look for ways to improve their team. Wouldn’t say the likelihood of making a trade.
Lia Assimakopoulos: Nill on their interest in any top trade targets like Zach Werenski and Dylan Larkin: “Some of the things you hear might not be true. I’ll do my calls. We’ll talk to teams. That’s what we’re going to work through over the next four or five days.”
Rober Tiffin: Nill said that they are still talking with pending RFA Mavrik Bourque, and that he’ll be talking with pending UFA Jamie Benn soon.
Where do things stand with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Zach Werenski?
Bruce LaVine: If the Stars are able to re-sign Jason Robertson, they’ll most likely not be able to fit Bourque under the cap. If Bourque remains unsigned past July 1st, his price point and compensation to the Stars will be very attractive to other teams.
Robert Tiffin: Forward Radek Faksa should be ready for the start of training camp after his second surgery. Forward Tyler Seguin is still recovering and they’re hopeful that he’ll be ready for the start of training camp, but they’ll be careful with him.
