A friendly banter between Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Ravindra Jadeja and Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Shardul Thakur. In the last over of the first innings of the MI vs RR IPL 2026 match, Jadeja and Thakur took a few moments to show rivalry through some friendly gestures.
On the third ball of the 20th over, when Ravindra Jadeja came to strike, the MI seam bowling all-rounder welcomed him with a friendly reaction. In the following delivery, the experienced spin bowling all-rounder of the Rajasthan Royals received his moment to give Shardul a reply.

RR gets a good total on board despite losing wickets
Because of the late assault by Ravindra Jadeja, the Rajasthan Royals comfortably edge past the 200-run mark and secured a total of 205 runs in 20 overs, in exchange for 8 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja remains not out for 19 runs from 11 balls, hitting three 4s in total.

Overs 1-6: 54/3 at 9 RPO
Overs 7-15: 78/2 at 8.66 RPO
Overs 16-20: 73/3 at 14.6 RPO
Considering the fall of the wickets in the early stage of the innings, it is a good total for them. Interestingly, Rajasthan claims the score without a single half-century.

Deepak Chahar is confident of winning the match
After the innings, Deepak Chahar mentioned that because of the scoring hot conditions in Mumbai, it was very difficult to bowl back-to-back overs. He informed that the pitch was a little bit slow, and it got slightly better in the last 10 overs of the innings. Chahar is hopeful about chasing down the target successfully. If his prediction proves on point, then in the first 10 overs of the second innings, the Mumbai Indians could get a good amount of runs on the scoreboard.
“Bowling-wise, much better than other games (for MI), heat-wise, it was very hot. Difficult to bowl back-to-back overs for anyone. It’s a bit slower (the pitch). The last 10 overs were better than the first 10 overs (how the pitch played). The next 10 overs will be the best for batting. It’s a decent total, but the next 10 overs will be the best for batting. We should chase it down easily,” Deepak Chahar stated.
