'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' box office collections Day 13: Tom Holland starrer nears Rs 520 crore in India, despite 'Awarapan 2' and 'Batwara 1947' opening advance ticket sales

Tom Holland‘s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, continued its strong run at the Indian box office, with the superhero film maintaining momentum on its second Tuesday. The film, which clocked 13 days at the Indian ticket windows, saw a good growth at the box office, with bookings opening for the upcoming Independence Day releases.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ box office collection Day 13

On Day 13, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded an estimated India net collection of Rs 8.50 crore across 12,851 shows. The film’s India gross for the day stood at approximately Rs 10.02 crore, taking its overall India net collection to Rs 431.55 crore and gross collection to around Rs 515.95 crore.

‘Awarapan 2‘ takes the lead in advance bookings

Spider-Man’s weekday performance comes just ahead of a busy Independence Day weekend, with Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Awarapan 2’ and Sunny Deol’s ‘Batwara 1947’ set to arrive in cinemas this weekend. The early advance booking numbers suggest that the Hashmi starrer is currently well ahead of ‘Batwara 1947’ as per advance booking updates. On August 11, ‘Awarapan 2’ had reportedly sold around 20,300 tickets, generating a gross of approximately Rs 86 lakh across more than 1,140 shows.‘Batwara 1947’, on the other hand, has sold just around Rs 20 lakh across approximately 1,120 shows. Despite the two films having a similar number of shows across the tracked chains, the Deol starrer has been registering considerably lower occupancy compared with Hashmi’s ‘Awarapan 2’.The early numbers indicate a strong start for the sequel to the 2007 cult favourite. The original film, starring Emraan Hashmi, has developed a loyal following over the years, contributing to the sequel’s strong advance demand. While Spider-Man: Brand New Day will look to retain its hold on the Indian box office during its third week, ‘Awarapan 2’ and ‘Batwara 1947’ are currently enjoying a substantial lead in advance bookings.
