On Wednesday, December 3, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the T20I squad of the India National Cricket Team for the upcoming series against the South Africa National Cricket Team.
Suryakumar Yadav-led India National Cricket Team are all set to lock horns with Aiden Markram-led South Africa National Cricket Team in a five-match T20I series.
India and South Africa to lock horns across five venues
The South Africa tour of India 2025 consists of a two-match Test series, a three-match ODI series, and a five-match T20I series.

The test series is already over, and the Proteas registered a historic 2-0 clean sweep over the hosts, while the ODI series between the teams is currently underway.
Talking about the T20I series, the opening match is set to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday, December 9.
Then, the action will move towards New Chandigarh, where the teams will go head-to-head at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday, December 11.
The third match will be hosted by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, December 14, and the fourth game will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, December 17.
The fifth and final fixture of the series is scheduled to be hosted by the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, December 19.
Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya make T20I comeback
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the team against the Proteas and will get the support of his deputy, Shubman Gill, who has made his comeback from a neck injury.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been out of action in international cricket since the Asia Cup, has also made a return. The rest of the squad is along the expected lines as the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah are present.
“The Senior Men’s Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming IDFC First Bank five-match T20I series against South Africa,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated.
A shocking call made during the squad selection made by Ajit Agarkar & Co. was the snub of the star middle-order batsman Rinku Singh.
Despite not getting consistent opportunities, Rinku Singh has managed to deliver goods in the limited chances, but he doesn’t find himself in the squad against the Proteas.
